I'm an experienced educational technologist, administrator, teacher, ed tech instructor and consultant. I'm relentless in pursuit of practical, useful (usually free) tech resources to enhance student learning.
I am currently the Director of Professional Development and Educational Technologist responsible for a 1:1 iPad high school program. I work with teachers to get the most out of technology to enhance student learning and I'm now also responsible for developing an overall professional development plan for the school.
I recently concluded my role as Vice President of the Silicon Valley Computer Using Educators group, dedicated to providing effective, low cost or free training to educators. The group provides a "Teach Through Technology" professional development day each year. I've led that effort the last few years. In 2015, we had over 400 attendees.
I am an early adopter of Chromebooks. My previous school was one of the first in Northern California to implement Chromebooks to over 200 students in a 1:1 program . This initiative has been a huge positive for student learning.
I co-author the Communicate..Create..Edtech blog, which explores opportunities to support student learning with useful ed tech tools.
I have trained hundreds of teachers on a wide variety of classroom tech integration topics. I provide professional development training through the Krause Center for Innovation, the EdTech Team and other organizations.
In 2014, I was named EdTechDigest's Leadership Award winner.
